We are currently looking for personnel to work temporarily for the rehabilitation project of thermal power plant, where we are carrying out O&M activities.
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent (AWS, CSWIP, or TWI certifications preferred).
- Minimum of 3 of experience in welding inspection, preferably in rehabilitation or heavy industry projects.
- Strong understanding of welding codes and standards (ASME, API, AWS, ISO, etc.).
- Familiarity with welding processes such as SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, WPS/PQR, and weld symbols.
- Ability to work in challenging site conditions, including confined spaces and elevated areas.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and weld gauges.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective reporting and coordination.
- Fluent in English.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of welding activities, including pre-weld, in-process, and post-weld stages to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Review welding procedures, qualifications, and certificates to verify compliance.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, including weld maps, repair logs, and non-conformance reports.
- Prepare and submit detailed daily/weekly progress reports to project management.
- Ensure welding activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
- Collaborate with non-destructive testing (NDT) teams for ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT), and other required methods.
- Evaluate NDT results to ensure weld integrity and recommend appropriate repair methods for defects.
- Train and support welders in meeting quality and safety standards.
- Conduct visual inspections of welding joints to identify surface defects and ensure weld quality.
